2 October 2008 Entrepreneurship being promoted Small business across regional Victoria is being given an opportunity to highlight its success and promote its achievements through the Provincial Victoria 2008 "Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award". The Award is open to regionally based businesses of 50 EFT employees or less who can demonstrate a record of entrepreneurship and innovation for products, services or community endeavour. The "Champions of the Bush" (COTB) group with the support of Regional Development Victoria and the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AGSE) will present this year's Award at a gala dinner at Brown Brothers Wines Epicurean Centre in Milawa in November. The Convenor of COTB Geoff Carruthers said today that many of the entrants will benefit from raising their profile, and the Award winner will be provided with access to business skills development and international recognition. "We believe that many SME's in regional communities can match it globally, and we will provide support for them to go forward with their ideas", he said. Award prizes include AGSE program entry offer, conference expenses support to $5,000, and a Trophy. The 2007 winner was "Green Eggs", a free range eggs producer in Ararat, who will speak at the gala dinner and outline what the Award has meant to their business growth. The
