Members of Champions of the Bush, supported by the Regional Executive Forum Chairs and SED Advisory, lend their collective support to develop and present:

Briefing papers on key issues for regional areas.These have included Education scholarships and access, telecommunications, energy, road networks, transport and regionalisation issues.

Representation to State and Federal Government Ministers and the private sector, regarding issues impacting people living in Regional Australia

Supporting initiatives to encourage visitation to country areas, and highlighting the positive differences of living and working in regional communities

Input to development of Regional Investment priorities to regional development plans and Infrastructure Victoria.
Advocacy
We have promoted greater investment such as water supplies, water treatment and reuse; industrial, commercial, and technology developments; specialist aged and health care facilities; broadband and telecommunications links; renewable energy and biofuel production.
Members also support the development and publication of results of an annual “Pulse Survey” designed to capture regional business confidence levels, barriers to business growth, investment plans and workforce matters.
